Can you lose weight?

Even though colon hydrotherapy benefits are various and even though it’s a treatment meant to clean out your colon, some people pursue colonics in an effort to lose weight. Is that even possible? Yes and no. Confused? Let’s get deeper into this topic together.

As you probably already know, colonic hydrotherapy is a procedure that involves allowing a slow flow of water into the rectum. There are certain foods that can make colon hydrotherapy more effective. One of them is Triphala, an Ayurvedic formulation consisting of three fruits. Triphala is a natural laxative that has been used since ancient times to treat constipation. You can find the Triphala powder in any pharmacy. Add a tablespoon in a glass of water and drink it in the morning.

You can also try drinking lemon and honey or Senna. Senna is a colon stimulator that you can prepare as tea. Just take six senna leaves and crush them, boil some water and let it all cool down.

Foods and plants that also showed as effective are Aloe Vera, fiber-rich food, ginger, apple juice, and a papaya mint smoothie. If you want to prepare this smoothie, you’ll need ½ papaya, mint leaves, and a pinch of black salt. Cut half a papaya info cubes and throw it in the blender. Are there some dos and don’ts before a colon hydrotherapy treatment?

Yes! You should drink a lot of water and start your day with a detox drink. You should eat more veggies and fruits, get good sleep and exercise.

Avoid foods that are high in fat content, and do not get a colon to cleanse without consulting your doctor first. It’s advisable to refrain from eating or drinking anything two hours prior to your treatment because we want to avoid feelings of nausea and ensure that you’ll have maximum comfort during the session.

After colon hydrotherapy, you’ll probably feel rebalanced, rejuvenated and re-energized. Try to drink plenty of fluids. You’ll probably enjoy a healthy vegetable soup with the next couple of hours but avoid eating raw vegetables straight after the session. Also, you should reduce meat consumption, coffee, and sugar intake.
